Currently, Dr. G M Al Amin is working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Botany of Jagannath University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. From 2009 he has been working with Jagannath University in different capacities e.g. Lecturer, and Assistant Professor.

Moreover, Dr. G M Al Amin performed as Research Associate in the following projects; Improvement of Grain Legumes through genetic transformation (USDA), Plant Breeding and Biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Botany. University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. From 01 June 2007 to 30 September 2009

He also participated several training programs e. g. Hands-on Training Workshop on the Application of Genetic Engineering in Crop Improvement, Trainer: Dr. V.S Reddy, ICGEB (New Delhi, India). Assistance in the Formulation of Enabling Regulatory Measures for Research and Sustainable Application of Biotechnology, 19 July – 28 July 2009. Practical course on Development of Fungus-resistant Lentil and Chickpea with Special Emphasis on Biosafety Regulations.
